87kg - three main favorites for Olympic gold in Greco-Roman wrestling

We continue to study and analyze the leaders in all weight categories of Greco-Roman wrestling at the Olympic Games. Today our gaze is turned to the leaders in the weight category up to 87 kg.

In this weight category you can find many interesting personalities from whom you can expect outstanding results in the tournament. We will highlight three strong wrestlers who, in our opinion, have a great chance of winning Olympic gold in Paris.

Ali Cengiz (Türkiye) is the current world champion in this weight category and European vice-champion. At the World Championships he put on an impressive display, defeating current Olympic champion Jean Beleniuk in the early stages of the tournament and defeating Hungarian Dawid Losonczy in the final. However, at the last tournament in Hungary, it became clear that David had prepared well and studied Cengiz's style, defeating him 6:1. It will be especially interesting to watch their fights in Paris.

David Losonczy (Hungary) - vice-world champion and European U-23 champion. David proved himself at the World Championships, where he finished almost all his fights ahead of schedule, except for the final, where he was stopped by Ali Cengiz. He recently took revenge on Cengiz, winning the Hungarian tournament with a score of 6:1. At 24 years old, this Hungarian athlete has every chance to prove his superiority at this tournament.

Zhan Belenyuk (Ukraine) is the current Olympic champion, three-time European champion and two-time world champion. At the last major tournaments, Jean won only bronze medals, but his experience and skill are not in doubt. At 33 years old, this Ukrainian still has something to prove, and he is going to the Olympics solely for gold.
