UEFA responded to the Serbian national team's complaint and fined Croatia for anti-Serbian chants during the Croatia-Albania match at EURO 2024.

"The UEFA Disciplinary Committee, the supreme body of European football, decided to fine the Croatian Football Federation (HNS) due to incidents that occurred during the Croatia-Albania match at the 2024 European Football Championship in Germany," reports the Croatian Football Federation.

The Croatian Football Federation was fined 28,000 euros. Of this amount, 17,500 euros was the fine for the use of flares, and 10,500 euros was for throwing objects by Croatian fans during the match, which took place on June 19 in Hamburg.

These measures were taken following a complaint by the Serbian national team about anti-Serbian chants from some Croatian fans. UEFA emphasized the importance of respectful behavior at sporting events and the necessity to prevent expressions of hatred and aggression in the stands.

The Croatian Football Federation thanked its fans for their support but once again called for restraint from using flares and throwing objects onto the field. HNS representatives noted that such actions not only violate rules but also pose a risk to the safety of match participants and spectators.

The UEFA Disciplinary Committee also emphasized that it will continue strict control over rule compliance at all matches during the European Championship, aiming to ensure a safe and friendly atmosphere in the stadiums.

No sanctions against Albania have been reported so far.
