In the fight for a place in the 1/4 finals, Vinesh Phogat caught the Japanese woman on a mistake in the last seconds, earning two important points, which allowed her to win with a score of 3:2 and advance to the next round. Yui Susaki, who had never lost in her career before, was stopped because of this small mistake. Yui Susaki ended up winning the Olympic bronze medal, while Vinesh Phogat made it to the finals, but was eventually disqualified the next day for being 150 grams overweight during the weigh-in. As a result, Vinesh did not receive her silver medal and filed a lawsuit.
