From the official sources of the Iranian Wrestling Federation became known Iranian compositions that will go to the Paris Olympic Games 2024.
In the capital of France Iranian national team will be represented by 11 wrestlers: 5 freestyle wrestlers and 6 Greco-Roman wrestlers. There is no women's wrestling in Iran because of the religious rules of Iran.
The main figure of the team will be the legend of Iranian wrestling, multiple world medalist and Olympic champion - Hassan Yazdani (freestyle wrestling, 86 kg). His fans literally carry him in their arms all over the Iranian land. His greatest victories become a celebration for the whole country. After the qualifying tournaments in the United States, where it became known that his main rival David Taylor would not go to the Olympics, it became a real celebration in Iran. After all, the American had almost always defeated Hassan, including the final of last year's Tokyo Olympics. Now, instead of Taylor, the younger Aaron Brooks will be on Hassan's path in Paris, which gives our wrestler a great chance to win.
