The United World of Wrestling (UWW) has published on its website the ranking of Greco-Roman wrestlers before the Olympic Games.

The updated list is based on the results of the recently held in Budapest international tournament "Imre Poyak and Janos Varga".

As previously repeatedly reported, based on the rating will be determined seeded participants of the Olympics in Paris - the higher the position of the wrestler in the classification, the more favorable tournament grid he will get. Thus, ranked first and fourth places in their categories wrestlers will get to the top of the grid and will be able to cross only in the semifinals. At the same stage it is possible to meet the second and third numbers, which will be located in the lower parts of the grids.

Of the Armenians, Artur Aleksanyan (97kg) tops his rating. Arthur is the main favorite for Olympic gold in this weight class.

Among the Olympic weights, Slavik Galstyan (67kg, 4th place) and Malkhas Amoyan (77kg, 4th place) occupy high positions in the ranking. Gevorg Gharibyan also occupies a high position in the Olympic weight category (60kg, 5th place), but unfortunately he did not qualify for the Olympic Games.

In non-Olympic weight categories, Hrachya Poghosyan (63kg, 6th place) occupies a high position.

It should be noted that the ranking is of a nominal nature and if the seeded wrestlers are not selected for the Olympics, it is impossible to replace them with another athlete.
